With UYISENGA NI IMANZI, supported by Lessons for Life Foundation, parents have been mobilized and were able to build 8 pre-primary schools in Cyanzarwe sector of Rubavu district.
This noble cause got support from the Army week and community work, some institutions (Catholic Church) also availed land, but the big portion of the work was done by the community itself for their children. They provided land, material and construction work.
Officials have welcomed the initiative which came to provide adequate space for children under school age, this is a home grown solution that motivate young children in pre-primary, but also maintain them in familiar/and caring environment.

Pre-Primary schools have started with children in 5 cells out of 8, the three remaining cells will soon opens doors for their children.
These pre-primary schools will officially be launched on June 16, 2017 to celebrate the International day of the African Child with Theme : “Building our future, preserving progress on child protection”.
We would like to use the community approach in extending the project which started in Rwamagana district, partnerships are encouraged because children are strong foundation for the future.
