TERMS AND CONDITION FOR ACADEMIC INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
UYISENGA NI IMANZI offers an internship to university students who are following their studies in agriculture field with an exciting focus on rural farmer support. We seek motivated university students pursuing a degree in Agriculture with a specialization in Horticulture, Crop Science, or Agronomy.
Internship Responsibilities:
- Horticulture Farm Operations:
- Assist with planting, tending, harvesting.
- Participate in research projects on sustainable agriculture and crop improvement.
- Apply integrated pest management strategies.
- Collect and analyze data on crop yields and farm management practices.
- Rural Farmer Support:
- Assist in training workshops for farmers, sharing knowledge on:
- Pest and disease diagnosis and management.
- Good agricultural practices (GAPs).
- Sustainable farming techniques.
- Provide technical assistance to farmers from different faming groups and cooperatives.
- Develop and implement educational materials for farmers.
Internship Requirements:
- Current enrolment in an Agriculture degree program with a focus in Horticulture, Crop Science, or Agronomy.
- Strong passion for sustainable agriculture and farmer support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a rural setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Basic understanding of local languages is advantageous.
