UNM team has set up a demonstration plot in Mwulire sector of Rwamagana, where different crops are produced in seed beds. Recently a group of youth farmers were trained to improve their agriculture focusing on making compost, water collection, irrigation, diversification of horticulture products and maximizing land use. This will address the issue of climate change and the shortage of employment.

Our agronomists, Vedaste Nsabiyera and Gilbert Mugwaneza have worked very hard to make this happen and together with volunteers and the management, they are exploring different options to increase the production and hopefully, by the end of 2017, many youth farmers will graduate.

No worry with dry season, Agriculture is possible using improved techniques, water collected during rainy season will serve for irrigation!!!
