The Day of African Child (DAC) is a call for action to all State Parties of the African Union and to the World in general to increase efforts in ensuring that the rights of children are protected and promoted and that strong measures are taken to fight against any form of violence inflicted on children. This 2018 year’s DAC theme states: “Leave no child behind for Africa’s Development”.
To align to this theme, Rwanda has celebrated the DAC with the theme “Twitabire gahunda mbonezamikurire y’abana bato, dutegure ejo heza h’u Rwanda” meaning Let us support Early Child Development program for the development of Rwanda.
After UYISENGA NI IMANZI has accompanied parents in Rubavu and Rwamagana to build 12ECDs in 2017, this year, we have celebrated the Day of African Child in Rwamagana district, inaugurating 7 new ECD’S built in Mwulire Sector.
The Guest of Honor was Honorable Mayor of Rwamagana, Mr MBONYUMUVUNYI Radjab who applauded citizen from Mwulire for the initiative. He also expressed gratitude to UYISENGA NI IMANZI for the partnership with the district. Brother Camille RUDASINGWA, Vice Chairman of UYISENGA NI IMANZI called audience to invest in children.
Young children from ECD’S, Students from GS Mwulire and parents enjoyed the DAC, in songs, dances, poems and testimonies. Different personalities attended the event and called parents to continue caring for children, to ensure maintenance of the infrastructures, but mostly make profit of integrated ECD services (Care, education, nutrition, Hygiene, Family planning,….)
