From December 21 to 23,2015, a retreat took place at Muhazi Beach Hotel grouping all staff members. The main goal was to share experiences, achievements and challenges they have faced in their daily work, but also plan together for the coming year.
The work was conducted in 7 workshops:
- Education
- Economic Development
- Advocacy -Communication & Partnership
- Child Protection
- Logistics
- Finances &Budget
- Organisational structures
Discussions in small groups focused on current status or profile, achievements (2015), gaps, the way forward (2016) and recommendations. The compilation and amendments were done in plenary session.
The next session focused on team work and needs in capacity building in a participatory manner.
At the end of sessions, all participants have expressed gratitude to UNM leaders for the support and encouragement they received to accomplish their respective mission.
Before the closing of the retreat, UNM Board of Directors met the staff, the Country Director gave a summary on what has been done during 2015, what is planned for 2016 and talked on challenges and opportunities as discussed during the retreat and previous forums.
The Chairman on the Board of Directors, on behalf of other Board members and his own, expressed satisfaction on the work done so far and the image that UYISENGA NI IMANZI ’s organisation is branding. He congratulated the Team Leader, Mr Uwihoreye Chaste as the National Coordinator, for his commitment and talent in leading his colleagues to maintain the organisation’ s life. He promised his continuous support and the board members. He concluded by inviting all participants to feel free and share their views and addressed best wishes for the FESTIVE SEASON and for 2016!!
Both Board and Staff members enjoyed the session and renewed their entire dedication for UYISENGA NI IMANZI
